Testing the Korean Olympic and Development Triathlon Team - Training Camp
(pre racing season) in the Snowy Mountains

The main point for testing was to provide information for the coaches and athletes regarding how the athletes were reacting physiologically to the higher altitude and how well the athletes were pacing themselves during training.

The point for this particular training session was for athletes to last the whole training session (40km Jindabyne/Charlotte Pass on the bike, followed by an approximately1hr 40 min run, and 40km ride back to Jindabyne) in the correct lactate and heart rate levels (as part of a good base for the racing season), not to smash themselves and over train before the season starts.

Interesting results came from young athlete, Chang Yon. This athlete finished in the top twenty during his first World Cup race and his lactate levels suggested he had a good feeling for the pace, good lactate tolerance and balance during the whole training session.
