Sydney 2000 Olympics

Having attained his last goal as a rider, Radek returned to Australia satisfied. He then became active in coaching. His work brought him together with Jan Rehula, a Czech triathlete. Together they started working towards the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. This preparation proved to be successful, as Jan won a bronze medal in what was then the very first inclusion of triathlon in the Games.

A month later, Radek was also involved with the Paralympic Games, where he was part of the Australian contingent as an Assistant Coach. The Australian Paralympic Cycling Team won 24 gold medals and achieved the Number 1 ranking amongst participating countries.
